On Saturday, October 17, SIDEWAYS hosted Frankenstein’s Frolic, our festive Halloween party at Atlanta Dance Central. The event was a huge success! We had an exciting turnout and enjoyed all of the fun costumes we saw. Some of our favorite costumes were My Little Pony, Monster High, and Joy from Inside Out.
Trunk or treat was new to Frankenstein’s Frolic this year, and we will definitely be keeping it as part of the festivities for future years. Dancers from SIDEWAYS and Foster Schmidt Dance Company decorated their cars with balloons, spooky spider webs, skeletons, and more to get in the Halloween spirit. There was enough candy to satisfy every kid’s, and parent’s, sweet tooth!
SIDEWAYS, Foster Schmidt Dance Company, and Atlanta Rising Talent all had a blast performing for the packed Frankenstein’s Frolic audience. The kids loved seeing the spider showgirls, jazzy devils, and Thriller zombies during the show. A new crowd favorite was the spooky contemporary dance “Howl” performed by the teen company members of Atlanta Rising Talent. While some of our dances stay the same from year to year, we like to add new dances and we are excited for what’s to come at next year’s frolic.
If you can’t wait to see another exciting SIDEWAYS performance don’t worry because our Once Upon A Holiday is just around the corner! We are excited to be returning to Roswell again this year to perform on Blessed Trinity High School’s beautiful stage. Once Upon A Holiday is a festive twist the the story of Alice in Wonderland and features a cast of interesting and entertaining holiday themed characters. Performances will be on November 20 and 21st at 7:00 p.m. and November 21st and 22nd at 2 p.m. The matinee performances feature a special pre-show performance by the Foster Schmidt Dance Company.
