Suwanne Elementary School Workshop

Educational Workshops for Schools

Everyone is An Artist

  • Teaching dance as a form of expression, shows the SIDEWAYS creation process, and gives students new tools to create art
  • Focuses on different techniques of composition, including Laban notation and abstraction of movement from photographs and text,
  • 1.5 Hour Minimum – Uses SIDEWAYS Repertory as example for creation
  • For Ages 8 – High School
  • No Prior Dance Training Required
  • Rate – $300 to $500 – Depending on the number of students

Once Upon A Holiday Mini Performance

  • A narrated, condensed version of SIDEWAYS Once Upon A Holiday. – The story of Alice in Wonderland with a Festive Twist
  • At the end of the presentation, students participate in the finale with SIDEWAYS dancers, creating their own moves with assistance.
  • 1 Hour Minimum
  • For All Ages – Preschool through High School
  • No Prior Dance Training Required
  • Rate – $300 to $500 – Depending on the number of students

Workshops and Master Classes

Composition Lab

  • Choreography lab, focusing on different techniques of composition, including Laban notation and abstraction of movement from photographs and text
  • 1.5 Hour Minimum – Uses SIDEWAYS Repertory as example for creation
  • For Ages 8 – Adult
  • Rate – $300 to $500 – Depending on the number of students

Technique Class

  • Modern, Jazz, Contemporary, Ballroom, or Ballet Class
  • 1 Hour Minimum per style
  • For All Ages/Levels – Best to be separated by beginner, intermediate, advanced
  • Rate – $100 per hour

SIDEWAYS Repertory Class

  • Usually best when paired with Contemporary or Modern Technique Class
  • 1 Hour Minimum
  • For Intermediate to Advanced Dancers
  • Rate – $100 per hour

Half Day Intensive

  • Technique & Composition
  • 1.5 Hours – Technique intensive w/ SIDEWAYS repertory
  • 1.5 Hours – Composition lab, focusing on different techniques of choreography, including Laban notation and abstraction of movement from photographs
  • Rate – $400 (dependent on number of students)

Whole Day Intensive

  • 1.5 Hour – Technique Class
  • 1.5 Hour – SIDEWAYS repertory
  • Lunch Break
  • 2 Hour Composition lab, focusing on different techniques of composition, including Laban notation and abstraction of movement from photographs
  • Rate – $700

5 Day Summer Intensive

  • 5 Days of:
    • 1.5 Hour – Technique Class
    • 1.5 Hour SIDEWAYS repertory
    • Lunch Break
    • 2 Hour Composition lab, focusing on different techniques of composition, including Laban notation and abstraction of movement from photographs
  • Rate – $3200

Custom Choreography

  • Have SIDEWAYS create a new piece for your studio
  • Rate – $150 per minute of choreography (Includes 6 hours of rehearsal time)
