This April, SIDEWAYS dancers were fortunate enough to showcase some of their new work at the Wherible GPS launch party.
Though their performance was undoubtably well received, it was the Foster-Schmidt Dance Academy for Down syndrome who really stole the show!
The Foster-Schmidt Dance Academy provides weekly classes and summer weekend workshops for people in the Down Syndrome community. The dancers work in each class to improve their muscle tone, balance, and coordination as well as learn basic jazz and ballet movements. The dancers perform in the Atlanta Dance Central recital held in May each year in addition to various performances in the community. SIDEWAYS dancers can be seen teaching workshop classed and assisting with weekly classes as “buddies” to the participants.
A Huge thank you to Wherible GPS for their continued support!
